Threads on the Loom
Threads appear… then appear again. At first, they may seem small, easy to pass by. But as they return, something begins to gather— and a pattern starts to come into view.
REFLECTION

Cloth is not made all at once.
It begins with threads.
On a loom, each thread is drawn through,
one at a time…
over… under…
back again.
At first, it does not look like anything.
Just lines.
Crossing.
Returning.
ut as the threads continue…
A pattern begins to appear.
Not because it was added later—
but because it was always being formed
as the threads were placed.
Scripture moves in the same way.
A word appears in one place…
then appears again somewhere else.
A moment returns.
A shape begins to repeat.
At first, it can feel separate.
Like loose threads.
But they are not loose.
They are being carried.
A garden appears…
then appears again.
A tree stands…
then is seen again.
Water flows…
then flows again.
Each one like a thread—
drawn through the text.
And over time…
what once felt like separate passages
begins to reveal something whole.
Not fragments.
A woven cloth.
And like any cloth…
the pattern is not found in a single thread.
It is seen
when the threads are held together.
And quietly, something becomes clear:
Nothing has been placed at random.
Every thread
has been carried with intention.
You may have already seen one.
